We've been lucky enough to visit and stay with our dear friends while we're here in Iceland and Saturday night took the cake. Kristine planned a fantastic murder mystery dinner, Texas style (since they are moving there in August). Have you ever done one? She bought the game online, printed off the scripts, put up some banners and Western-style props and voila. It was fantastic. There were ten characters in all and everyone did an AMAZING job improvising, though the scripted characters are TOTALLY un-PC (Sum Ting as a Chinese servant?!). Sadly, I didn't get pictures of everyone that night so we're missing Chief Redhorse and his daughter Pohaw-something, Poncho something, and Jenny Jenkins who all looked and performed wonderfully.
I played Lucy Lipps, the flamboyant saloon owner--hence the boa (found at the flea market that morning for $1). In my photo I was trying my best at an 80s glamor shot. Paul played Ace Holdem, the gambling/cheating man (think Maverick). Paul was really digging his moustache (also found at the flea market that morning. Perfect, right?!)
Best line of the night went to Purdy Lady, the dumb dancer in my saloon who learned about Sum Ting's fascination with arsenic...."I know what an arse is, but what's arsenic?" Well done guys!

We hosted a Murder Mystery party a couple of years ago, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how our guests really embraced the idea and lived their characters! It was so much fun seeing our friends playing entirely different roles than we knew them.
You guys did an amazing job with the attires - great moustache :)
This looks like so much fun!
I'm friends with them too. I'm so excited they're coming to the states. What a fun party with great names.
